THE MA MAISON WEDDING
“When someone else’s happiness is your happiness, that is love.” – Lana Del Ray
I was so excited to see this couple again on their wedding day. The last time I seen them was during their engagement session at Le San Michele, which you can peek at here. They were just so stylish, carefree, and so much fun to work with then, that I knew their wedding day would be no exception.
Their wedding was held at the ever so beautiful, Ma Maison in Dripping Springs. This venue is nestled on 23 acres in the beautiful wine country right outside of Austin, Texas and is such an impressing spot.
Aimee, the beautiful bride, was as pleasant as ever. And even though the wedding was a little delayed, she didn’t let that get to her good vibe. Even when she walked down the aisle and the wind carried away her veil, she just looked back and smiled and kept on walking. Nothing was going to deter her from what this day was really all about….marrying her guy.
Cole a.k.a. the handsome guy, was as charming as ever. He let us know, that anything we (photographers) needed, he’d do. Oh boy, if only all grooms were as easy to work with as he during their wedding day. He definitely set the bar high that guy!
This wedding happened to be the best day of their lives (according to them) and Aimee would like to offer up some advice to other couples…
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding? Decide early on what your non-negotiables are and splurge on those items. Only choose 1 or 2. If fresh peonies are important to you, then spend the money! Also, regardless of what people will tell you, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE CAKE. Many people before the wedding were astonished to hear that Cole and I were not serving cake. The night of, however, they were all ranting and raving over the pies. Don’t share the details of your wedding with anyone other than those who are the need to knows. You’ll eventually end up having more opinions than you care to have.
Do rely on your closest friends and family to help. Don’t obsess over the wedding – it WILL turn off your husband to be. And if you can, hire a wedding coordinator. Don’t bother with DIY. This will save you your sanity!
What photography-related advice would you offer to a couple? Trust your photographer – they have been doing this longer than you. Look for someone whose style you LOVE. And realize early on, that if photos are important to you, you are going to have to splurge for an amazing photographer!
Lynnette Davis of (PP) was fantastic to work with! She made the process quick and painless.
