Advice from the couple…
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding? Decide early on what your non-negotiables are and splurge on those items. Only choose 1 or 2. If fresh peonies are important to you, then spend the money. And regardless of what people will tell you… YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE CAKE! There were a lot of opinions from our guests about us not serving cake. The night of, however, they were all ranting and raving over the pies. Don’t share the details of your wedding with anyone other than those who are the need to knows. You’ll eventually end up having more opinions than you care to have.
Do rely on your closest friends and family to help. Don’t obsess over the wedding – it WILL turn off your husband to be. And if you can, hire a wedding coordinator. Don’t bother with DIY. This will save you your sanity!
What photography-related advice would you offer to a couple? Trust your photographer! They have been doing this longer than you. Look for someone whose style you LOVE and realize early on that if photos are important to you, you are going to have to splurge for an amazing photographer. Lynnette Davis of (Parentheses) Photography was fantastic to work with. She made the process quick and painless.
