SARAH + WILLIAM
“We must take adventures in order to know where we truly belong.”
These two are a couple of wanderers and they love, love, love the great outdoors, beer and traveling. Probably as much as they love their 2 year old giant schnauzer, Heidi. They’ve been to so many wonderful places together, including snowboarding in Riudosa, New Mexico, a 2.5 week long road trip to California and back with stop offs at Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Big Sur, and countless other parks. The list continues with trips to Colorado, Japan, The Dominican Republic, Cancun, the Ozarks in Arkansas, and after their wedding they’ll be traveling out to Europe for their honeymoon. I think I may propose the idea of stuffing me in their suitcase.
William really wanted the proposal to be something special and memorable for Sarah and while he waited for the custom-ring he ordered, his brother proposed to his girlfriend and beat him to the punch! His plan was to propose to Sarah in Japan at the top of Mount Fuji, but a monsoon hit and the mountain was unsafe to climb. He then devised a plan to hike to a spot with a nice view of Mount Fuji and propose there, but they ended up on the wrong trail. Instead of what was supposed to be a 1.5 hour hike, they ended up on a grueling and exhausting 10-hour hike. And to top it all off, when they finally reached the top of the mountain, it was so foggy that there were no views of much anything….except for sweaty, hungry, and thirsty Sarah. Will took one look at her and knew that everything they had just been through was to lead up to this very moment. So that’s when he pulled out the ring and popped the question (despite all of Sarah’s complaining about how tired and in pain she was) it was the perfect moment. And they ended up hiking back down the mountain, in the dark, and caught the last train back to Tokyo as an engaged couple.
So, that leaves me to this question….“What do you get when you mix cold air, dark night, warm fire, and bright stars?” Why LOVE…of course.
